Maretić butterfly collection

This natural history collection is a closed collection. It consists of dry-preserved butterfly specimens collected during the 20th century. The majority of the material was collected in Croatia, as well as in Slovenia and Austria. The collection is housed in 18 appropriately sized entomological drawers (45 × 30 cm), stored in a single cabinet within the entomological repository of the Zoological Department.

The collection was assembled by Dr. Vladimir Maretić and was donated to the museum in 1983 by the great-granddaughter of Tomo Maretić, Dr. Maretić’s son.

Collection Curator: Martina Šašić Kljajo
