Croatian Natural History Museum wins prestigious “Simply the Best of the Best” award for 2025

At the jubilee 25th edition of the business and tourism fair PUT, held on 9 April 2025 at Terme Sveti Martin, the Hrvatski prirodoslovni muzej received the prestigious “Simply the Best of the Best” award, winning in the category Culture and Education – Museum Institutions.

The award, jointly presented by the Croatian Travel Agencies Association and the PUT Fair, recognizes excellence, innovation, and contribution to the development of Croatia’s tourism offering.

The museum was recognized for its innovative and creative exhibition design, which uses state-of-the-art technological solutions, as well as for the high quality of its presentation. These elements significantly enhance the attractiveness and richness of Croatia’s tourism offer as a whole.

Among a strong field of renowned museums, the Hrvatski prirodoslovni muzej stood out for its modern approach to interpreting natural history themes, its impressive permanent exhibition, numerous interactive features, and educational programmes that bring natural science closer to a broad audience, especially children and young people.

On the occasion of receiving the award, museum director Prof. Dr. Sc. Tatjana Vlahović stated:
“This award confirms that our efforts are recognized at the national level. We are extremely proud to be the recipients of the first prize in the Culture and Education – Museum Institutions category.”

As part of its future plans, the museum announces a series of new exhibitions, intensified field-based educational activities, and workshops, with a special focus on sustainability and inclusivity, through programmes accessible to all age groups and people with disabilities.

This award further confirms the position of the Hrvatski prirodoslovni muzej as a leading institution in the popularization of science and the protection of natural heritage, as well as an attractive cultural and tourism destination in the heart of Zagreb.
