Islands in a Sea of Knowledge
ISLANDS IN A SEA OF KNOWLEDGE is a new project by the Blue World Institute in partnership with the Croatian Natural History Museum, Juraj Dobrila University of Pula, the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries, the Town of Mali Lošinj, and the associations Blue World Vis and Geopark Vis Archipelago.
The aim of the project is to enable the participating associations to carry out a series of activities that will popularize science and technology, or STEM, and organize various natural science education programs for children and young people from the islands of Lošinj and Vis. This will be achieved through training organized by scientific institutions for providers of educational activities from the associations involved in the project, as well as through the development of innovative and interactive educational content.
The project is co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund under Call UP.04.2.1.10 “Strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations to popularize STEM”, with a total value of HRK 1,534,268.40.
Grant funds have been provided from the European Social Fund, 85%, and the State Budget of the Republic of Croatia, 15%.
The planned duration of project activities is 24 months, until August 2024.
