About the Exhibition

In the world of insects and minerals, almost all colours and their shades can be found.
This exhibition presents fascinating combinations of colours and patterns between
minerals and beetles.

We photographed mineral samples from the mineralogical-petrographic collection and
beetle specimens from the Mišić Beetle Collection, selecting those whose colours or
patterns most closely match.

Some beetle species blend with minerals so closely that they are difficult to distinguish,
while others resemble the structure or shape of crystals. This play of colours, patterns,
and forms reveals fascinating connections between two seemingly different worlds —
the world of minerals and the world of insects.
