Orthoptera collection
This natural history collection is an open collection. It consists of dry-preserved specimens of grasshoppers and related orthopterans collected from the late 19th century to the present day, including recent acquisitions by museum curators. The majority of the material was collected in Croatia.
The collection was formed through the integration of Orthoptera material from various museum holdings, assembled through the collecting activities of Padewith, Jurinac, Igalffy, Perović, and other collectors. Part of the collection was studied by Sonja Mikšić, a renowned orthopterologist, while a recent scientific revision of the collection was carried out by Josip Skejo.
