Trinajstic Herbarium
The Trinajstic Herbarium consists of plant material collected during the professional career of Professor of Botany at the Faculty of Forestry, Dr. Ivo Trinajstić, and contains around 100,000 herbarium specimens. The plant material originates from almost all of Europe, Asia Minor, and part of North America, and includes specimens of rare, endemic, and new taxa for the Croatian flora and for science in general. The collection also formed the basis of numerous scientific papers by Prof. Dr. Ivo Trinajstić (over 600), but it also contains a significant amount of material that has not been scientifically processed, opening the possibility for new insights into the distribution of certain taxa as well as the richness of the Croatian flora. Its value also lies in the fact that, given the area it covers, it can serve as comparative material for future botanical scientific research.
